Camanachd Association Confirms Change of President in 2008
The Camanachd Association, the world-wide governing body of shinty, has confirmed that the current President, John Mackenzie MBE will not be seeking re-election when his term of office concludes at the AGM on 25 April 2008.
John MacKenzie conveyed this decision to the Board of the Camanachd Association at its recent meeting as part of the discussion relating to the roll out of new processes for the election to the Board from 2008. The processes that will seek nominations from individuals interested in becoming President Elect, will normally commence six months before the end of the three year term of office of a current President. The opportunity to begin the process earlier in 2007 will ensure that the President Elect will be in position to play a key role in finalising the Camanachd Association’s strategic plan for 2008-2011, later in the year.
